Posted September 2, 2021. My Focus MK4 has Keyless lock/unlock on all 4 doors, or at least it had a few weeks ago. Today I tried to open the front passenger door - but it refused to unlock, so then I tried each of the rear doors and the same, it would not unlock, (using the buttons on the keyfob works on all 4 doors) The drivers door keyless The most common problem why a car displays a Key Not Detected or No Key Present is because the batteries inside the key are too weak and need to be replaced. There are several reasons a car may not detect the key fob, also known as a remote keyless entry (RKE) system. One of the most common causes is a dead or weak battery in the key fob. MyKey distances do not accumulate. • The MyKey user is not using the MyKey. • An admin key was used to clear the MyKeys and create new MyKeys. • The key system has been reset. The MyKey does not function with the keyless entry transmitter. • An admin transmitter is present at vehicle start. • No MyKeys are created. See Creating a MyKey.

Reprogram the Smart Fob. These are mostly the reasons and troubleshooting options when a remote key won't unlock car door. Sometimes, the remote still does not work after checking for all possible reasons. In that case, you may have to reprogram the remote so that it pairs up with the car's receiver unit.

Keyless start uses an electronic steering lock there is no way to un do it without power. You gain entry with the backup mechanical key to the car to pop the hood and sort the battery out. Or use the backup position if the battery in the key is flat. It doesn't help you unlock the steering if the car battery is dead.
Ford offer the convenience pack now includes keyless entry, power start button and power fold mirrors £300. Don't know if you can back order it. Ill be going to my dealer tomorrow so I'll ask for you.
